Dave Cazer:  2008 RCH Director   I was probably about nine years old when I got my first mini-bike. At age eleven I got a paper route and my first real motorcycle; it was a Honda cub. After the next 5 years of delivering papers, I bought several more motorcycles. In the mid 80s I lost my younger brother at the age of twenty two in a motorcycle accident. My mother was so upset that I didn’t ride another motorcycle for the next decade. I bought my first Harley when the 100th anniversary models came out. This was about the time I started slowing down on skydiving and was looking for another vice. I had found it … the Harley Owners Group! It took me over a year before I could tell my mother that my wife and I had bought Harley-Davidson motorcycles. To my surprise, she said, “Well, maybe riding motorcycles is not as dangerous as skydiving.” Shonda and I both work at Boeing, and have three teenagers from previous marriages. We all happily live in Madison.

Johnny Seifert: Assistant Director    I was born in Miami and was a brat (Army brat). There’s probably some truth to that. Being an Army brat allowed me to live in many different countries, and I think that's why I enjoy traveling so much. Most of you know my wife Patty; she also rides a Harley-Davidson. She's been riding since 2006. Her ‘06 white Heritage is her first motorcycle. I've been riding since … well … a long time ago and have always had a passion for Harley Davidson motorcycles. My ‘05 white Ultra is my second Harley. I taught Patty to ride and she's teaching me to golf. It’s really obvious that her riding skills are much better than my golf game. Patty is opening a FASTSIGNS store very soon, and I am the manager of a logistics and maintenance integration facility for Tec-Masters. We both stay busy but always make time to ride and have fun. Patty and I joined this chapter in April 2007 to ride and share good times with new friends. We feel that we made the right decision. I am looking forward to this year with all of you.

Pam Douglas: Treasurer/Historian   Who would have thought that a girl from a small town in North Dakota would travel the world and end up in Huntsville, AL.  Who would have thought that same girl would ride her own Harley.  Well -- she did and she does.  I have enjoyed riding my "Road Queen" (1995 Sportster) for nearly 7 years now. Life has been filled with many accomplishments -- being an Army Veteran, being married to John for 30 years, having 2 wonderful boys and being Treasurer for our HOG group for 4 years, this will be year 5.

   Life is GOOD!!!

                                         Let's all have a GREAT 2008.

Linda Upton: Secretary:  Growing up in Columbia, Tennessee as a country “tomboy”, I was always one of the boys. We were always trying to get something to run so we could go somewhere for a new adventure. In 1976 I married a Huntsville, Alabama lineman, Ray, who is now Premier Power’s Alabama Division Manager. We have two boys and two girls and five grandchildren. We have raced Corvettes, flown airplanes, and ridden motorcycles. I even skydived once, ask “Skydave.” Being a retired surgery and emergency trauma nurse of 37 years, I look forward to riding more. I have a 2005, 1200 Sportster converted to a trike, so my degenerative osteoarthritis will not keep me from riding. I helped teach Motorcycle Awareness in Drivers Education at local schools, thanks to Amy Evans, a local chapter member who started the program in Alabama. Ray and I have been chapter members since January 2003, and as a past secretary, editor, and membership officer, I look forward to having even more fun and adventure in 2008.

Robert Jernigan:  Sergeant at Arms   Hi, everyone! I am Robert, and I currently hold the position of Sergeant at Arms of our Chapter. I am employed by Premier Power Maintenance. We work with high voltage and high voltage apparatus. I have a wonderful wife Lisa, and we have four children. Three have moved on, and the youngest, Kristin, is still at home. We joined the Chapter in June of 2003. We have made a lot of new friends and have gone places that we had never heard about, and never had a dull trip. We started on a Road King and have now worked our way to an Ultra Classic. I hope that everyone will have as much fun and adventure in the Chapter as we have the past five years. Ride safe and have FUN!!

Greg Redman: Webmaster - Last year when Dave was our Assistant Director, I stepped up and assumed the duties of Webmaster.  Being a Software Engineer at NASA and designing the Payload Operations Web Interface prepared me for this challenge.  I've been a member of the chapter for 8 years now and have been riding motorcycles since I was 13 years old.  I have had several Harley’s and now ride a 2002 Ultra Classic.

Wedding bells should be ringing soon for me and my fiancée, Beth Martinez.

Beth Martinez: Photographer/Historian   I am the Camera Lady. My camera’s usually with me at all times; you never know when you’re going to get that (one in a million) shot. So don’t be surprised if you see your face on the cover of the “ROLLING News Letter,” or Chapter Web page or even my Web page. So keep SMILING J . I’m also a mother of three children and very blessed with 4 wonderful grandchildren that are the joy of my life.  I have been an associate with Delphi Steering Geer for 4 ½ years. In June of 2004 I meet Greg Redman. I was so excited when he introduced me to the H.O.G. Chapter. Our first ride was a poker run for the Veterans. After a ride to the Smoky Mountains, I was so happy when I was asked to be the Chapter Photographer. I am so excited to be able to ride and take pictures at the same time. I have been a H.O.G. member and Chapter Photographer for 4 years. Ride safe and have fun.            Do I hear Wedding Bells?

Yvonne Dempsey: Editor  I am a Louisiana native (full-blooded Cajun) who came to Alabama with my husband, Milton, and our 4 boys in 1991. Milton had ridden motorcycles since his teens, but we had to sell his Yamaha when we moved, vowing to get a Harley when the boys grew up. We bought a 2001 Ultra 4 years ago and traded it in last year on a 2007 Ultra. It has been such fun belonging to the RCH family for the last 5 years. We have had many great adventures on our bike – most notably, riding the Dragon’s Tail in pouring down rain after last August’s National HOG Rally. Now that’s an adventure! I am an English teacher and Scholars’ Bowl coach at Catholic High. I enjoy reading, writing, traveling and spending time with friends and family. Milton is a mechanical field engineer, who enjoys spending time with his mistress (the Harley). We are proud that our youngest son, Joshua, is a lance corporal in the Marines. Our sons have blessed us with 7 grandchildren.

Deborah Hobson: Ladies of Harley  Not much can beat the freeing sensation of the wind blowing in my face on an exhilarating ride.  But having the same responsibilities as a lot of women, working hard from 8 to 5, a family and home, I believe every woman deserves play time too.  Ladies of Harley gives us a time to cut loose and leave the stresses of everyday life behind. A time to be free!  Ladies, let’s take that time every chance we can get!

Ray Worley:  Chaplain

I ride a 1996 FXSTS Softail Springer.  I am the Chapter Chaplain and this will be my 12th year as your Chaplain.  I am the pastor of Wings of Truth in Toney, Alabama and have been in construction for 32 years.  I am married to the love of my life, Fonda, and have three wonderful children.

Bob Power: Riders Edge/ Dealer Liaison  I was born in Indiana and left when I was 18. I bought my first bike (Honda) from the factory while living near Tokyo in 1977.  I owned various bikes on and off until I reached my quarter-life crisis mark in 2000 and saw that classic look in a Black Heritage Softail, and I had to have it.  I retired (I thought) in 2004 and moved from Washington DC to the Rocket City to be near my kids.  Shortly after moving in I was approached by my new neighbor (Dave Cazer) who invited me to a HOG meeting. (Okay, I got a little involved and enjoyed the rides.)  Somehow, while just looking for something to keep me occupied, I’m now very involved with the HOG Sponsor, Rocket Harley-Davidson.  I’m now the Service Manager and looking for ways to provide better service to the cycling community (and no, everything free is not the answer).  I have three wonderful grandkids (two now living with me) and a whole new family of great friends through this HOG chapter.

Spence Johnson: Membership Officer  While some may think a fellow who moved to Huntsville from Minnesota is a Yankee, let me put those fears to rest as I was born in California and grew up a gear head. Watching dragsters at Pomona in 1963, while sitting on my father’s shoulders, set me on a course to love all things with engines and wheels. After decades of wrenching and driving sports cars and dirt bikes I bought my first Harley, a 2006 Heritage Softail from Rocket City about two years ago. Just for the heck of it I went to a chapter meeting and was welcomed by some of the friendliest, genuine, patriotic and helpful folks I ever met. So that I can keep adding goodies to the bike, I keep in touch with my tool & die maker background as a machine tool sales engineer in North Alabama. I am blessed with an understanding wife, Becky, and two wonderful children. Our daughter is working on her PHD in chemistry at Emory and our son is a 7th grader at Randolph School

Rich Petrina: Safety Officer    I’m originally from Long Island, NY. I received a BS in Physics, University of Maryland and an MBA, Management, University of Michigan. Then, we moved to  the Fayetteville, Tennessee area in 1990. I’ve been riding a motorcycle since 1966 when I got one for cheap transportation to school. I have always owned at least one, even three at times, of all kinds. First one was a 1956 Triumph T-110 Trophy 650cc. I was a Data Processing Programmer and Systems Analyst for 24 years and was with the TN Department of Education as a grant administrator for 8 years. I became a nationally certified MSF Instructor in July 1992 after seeing a couple riding ahead of me get killed in a head-on collision while failing to negotiate a curve. I joined Harley-Davidson Rider's Edge in Sept. 2001 and have since become an R/E Network Quality Instructor in 2005. As such, I not only teach safety classes but train other instructors and audit programs throughout the Southeast and Mid-west. I’ve been a HOG member since November 1992 (Rocket City Chapter Charter member).

1992 (Rocket City Chapter Charter member).

Jerry Tignor: Head Road Captain

I enjoy riding my blue Harley Ultra Classic. My wife, Donna, accompanies me when possible. I have one daughter who will be giving me a grandbaby in August. After retiring, I returned to work part time supporting the HAWK System Management Office on Redstone Arsenal.

Billy James: Activity Officer

I, “Backwoods” Billy, am an activities officer for our Rocket City Chapter.  I’m 50 years young and married to Terri James, a very loving and caring wife. My present occupation is Maintenance Machinist at G.E. in Decatur.

I ride a 1999 Harley-Davidson Road King and a 2005 Honda Gold Wing. I also enjoy riding and riding and riding some more ……

Brian Boardman:  Activities Officer

This is my 2nd year as an activities officer for the chapter. I have been a HOG member for 2 years and am also a Road Captain. I enjoy riding my 2006 Electra Glide Ultra Classic. This is my 1st Harley, but I have been riding motorcycles since I was 19 years old. I am retired from the U.S. Air Force and am currently employed as a truck driver delivering freight in the local area.

Jimmy Reed: Activities Officer   I live in Hartselle and have lived in Morgan County all my life.  When I was fourteen, I bought my first motorcycle. I had a serious accident with a car, and when I woke up in Huntsville Hospital, after finding out what happened I wanted another motorcycle. Well it took a while to convince Mom to allow me to get another bike, but I did!!  I went without a motorcycle for several years. I owned another foreign made motorcycle for a while, but bought my first Harley in 2002. I joined The Rocket City Chapter in 2005. Also in 2005, I volunteered to be a presenter for the Share the Road Program that is taught in area high schools. I wanted to give something back to high school students. The goal is to teach motorcycle awareness to driver education students as they are learning to drive. In 2006, I was asked to serve as one of the activities officers.
